COLORADO MINE TOURS
Colorado's history is rich with mining as we were once the main source of silver mining for the entire country in the late 19th century. Most of our favorite towns in Colorado were built around the mines that once thrived there from Silverton to Boulder. And while the majority of the mines here are no longer active, many of them offer tours that provide an amazing insight into life in the late 1800s.
Colorado Culture Approved: Although one of the more popular mines, Argo in Idaho Springs is a fun adventure for people of all ages. Once a booming gold mine that was fed by the Argo Tunnel. Nearly 3 trillion dollars worth of gold (in today's value) came through the mine in the late 19th century.
Friendly Travel Tip: When experiencing a mine tour at any one of the great Colorado mines please be mindful of the history and respectful of the area around you. When allowed, please tip your tour guides.
