It’s true, Colorado is a landlocked state. And while we won’t ever rival Minnesota as the “Land of 10,000 Lakes” we still have plenty. Over 4,500 to be exact. And while not all of them are necessarily open to the public, many of the reservoirs and dam enhanced lakes are, and many of them offer boating privileges, even rentals. So get out on the water sometime during the summer if you’re feeling leisurely, or bring your jet ski if you’re feeling feisty.
Colorado Culture Approved: Lake Granby for 4th of July. They offer boat rentals of varying styles, and to be able to watch the fireworks spectacular from the water is truly a sight to behold!
Friendly Travel Tips: Always make sure that there are enough life vests for everyone on board, don’t take ANY glass on the water, and whoever is piloting the boat has to be the sober soldier for the day.
