COLORADO AMUSEMENT PARKS
Falling under the attraction category of Colorado activities, roller coasters, water slides, and alpine slides are plentiful in our beloved state. Whether in the city of Denver at Elitch Gardens/Waterworld, or all the way up at 9,000 feet at Glenwood Caverns, aerial amusement is never far away around here. We encourage you check them out.
Colorado Culture Approved: Elitch Gardens, Waterworld. This is simply because these are the biggest and the best amusement parks that we have to offer here. Waterworld also carries the distinction of being the largest waterpark in the country.
Friendly Travel Tips: These are summertime venues, so be sure to stay properly hydrated and pack plenty of sunscreen.
COLORADO ALPINE SLIDES
aka “superslides” these first became popular in Denver via the one located at Heritage Square. Since that particular park is no longer open, you have to head a little bit further out to find the good ones - Breckenridge and Winter Park come to mind. But we can think of worse reasons to head to the hills!
Colorado Culture Approved: Breckenridge Super Slide. This one is a little closer to Denver then it’s Winter Park counterpart, plus the town has a lot to offer once you’re done on the slide.
Friendly Travel Tips: Watch out for kids on the slide, but other than that, crank that lever all the way forward and let er rip.
